On July 19, 2024, the road connecting Roveglia di Pozzolengo to Rovizza di Sirmione was reopened after nearly three years of waiting and delays. The inauguration ceremony was attended by newly elected Mayor Alex Franzoni and his predecessor Paolo Bellini, who closely followed the entire process.
The road had been closed in 2021 due to the demolition of the old overpass on the A4, carried out as part of the construction works for the new Brescia-Verona high-speed rail line. The delays in reopening were caused by difficulties in sourcing the necessary materials. The new viaduct, which is over 200 meters long and wider than its predecessor, spans the A4 motorway, simplifying connections for residents and businesses heading towards Sirmione. Currently, the bridge is in a temporary configuration until the final works are completed.
