A unique adventure that winds through 130 kilometers across more than 30 municipalities, captured in a documentary film that captures the essence of the journey. “La Via delle Sorelle” (The Sisters’ Way), the route that connects Brescia to Bergamo, is now the protagonist of a new production by Cammini d’Italia, the largest Italian community dedicated to walking routes.
The project saw three members of the team – Vincenzo Caruso, one of the founders, Gianluca Arena, comedian and content creator, and Fabrizio Billi, videomaker and drone pilot – embark on this journey at the end of March. During the five days of the walk, they crossed natural parks, lush forests, and picturesque towns, immersing themselves in the local culture and savoring the gastronomic specialties of the area.
The team stayed in various accommodations along the route: farms, former railway stations converted into tourist accommodations, Liberty-style villas, and hostels. These places not only provided shelter but also enriched the experience with local stories and meaningful encounters.
“Our way of telling the walks is real,” explains Vincenzo Caruso. “We live these experiences fully as walkers. La Via delle Sorelle surprised us with its unspoiled nature and the warm welcome of the people.”
Despite the variable weather conditions that made the journey challenging, each stage offered surprising discoveries. The participants explored panoramic hills and ancient paths that offer enchanting views between the two Lombard cities.
Alessia Marsigalia, project coordinator, emphasizes how the journey managed to show a lesser-known side of Brescia and Bergamo: “Unexpected is the adjective that many use to positively describe La Via delle Sorelle. This route reveals a new face of these provinces often associated only with industry.”
The 45-minute documentary was made in collaboration with Visit Bergamo, Visit Brescia, and Slow Ride Italy. Through spectacular drone shots and engaging narrations, the film documents the six stages covered by the team in five days.
“This documentary represents an intensely lived experience,” Caruso adds. “We want to share this adventure through our authentic perspective.”
The documentary is available on Cammini d’Italia’s YouTube channel and can also be accessed on the official website of La Via delle Sorelle.
With this new audiovisual production, Cammini d’Italia continues to promote the beauty of Italian walking routes, inviting all trekking enthusiasts to discover new destinations through genuine and immersive experiences.
