A nighttime raid took place at the cemetery in Soiano on the evening of Wednesday, March 12, where the grave of Frida Braidic, matriarch of a well-known Romani family who passed away in 2009, was desecrated. Exhumation workers discovered the open coffin and reported the incident. This event is part of a broader context of thefts aimed at removing valuables left in graves, a traditional practice within nomadic communities.
Currently, investigations are underway to clarify the circumstances of the theft and identify those responsible for the act of vandalism. The desecration of the grave has raised concerns among residents and members of the Romani community, highlighting a phenomenon that has affected several cemeteries across Italy in recent years.
