Once again, Lake Garda has been the scene of a tragic road accident. This time, the incident occurred in Sirmione, at the corner of Via Verona and Via Verdi, facing Punta Grò, at around 8 p.m. last night.
The exact details of the accident are still unclear, but it appears that a Porsche Cayenne, traveling along Via Verona, was involved, as well as a Volkswagen van that seems to have emerged from a side road, and a motorcycle. Unfortunately, one of the two occupants of the Porsche Cayenne lost their life. The deceased is a 32-year-old man residing in Peschiera del Garda, whose identity has not yet been disclosed.
Investigations are still ongoing to determine the exact causes of the accident. At the moment, it is known that high speed appears to have been one of the main factors in the crash. Authorities are trying to determine if there are any other circumstances or potential liabilities on the part of the drivers involved.
In total, seven people were involved in the accident: in addition to the fatality, five individuals sustained minor injuries, and one person was transported to the Civil Hospital in critical condition. Two ambulances, two medical cars, and a helicopter rescue team, along with the Highway Patrol officers and firefighters, responded to the scene.
