A survey conducted by the Municipality of **Sirmione** has revealed the necessity to fell at least **95 dying poplars** in the **Punta Grò** area due to their precarious health and safety conditions. Many of the trees show signs of decay and have reached the end of their life cycle. They will be replaced with new native plants such as willows, black locusts, and oaks. The project, which also includes a thorough assessment of an additional 26 trees, has a total value of 180,000 euros, and the work is set to begin in February 2025.
The local administration is aware of the impact that such interventions may have on the community and is committed to adequately informing citizens about the reasons behind the felling. Deputy Mayor Maurizio Ferrari emphasized the importance of maintaining vegetation to ensure the safety of the area and to preserve its future usability.
