The town of Valeggio sul Mincio is preparing to host the 102nd edition of the Valeggio Fair from Saturday, July 6th to Monday, July 8th, 2024. This event celebrates local excellence and offers a wide range of events. Organized by the Pro Loco Valeggio Association in collaboration with the municipal administration, this event has become a staple in the area’s event calendar.
Mayor Alessandro Gardoni expressed great satisfaction with the return of the fair, stating, “We are pleased to announce the traditional event once again this year, which has now become a part of the hearts of the people of Valeggio and has captured the curiosity of those from neighboring territories and tourists.” Gardoni emphasized the importance of teamwork among the various actors involved in organizing the event.
The streets of the town will come alive with small live music concerts and dance performances in the square. The historic center will host an artistic and creative crafts market, offering evening shopping opportunities with the open shops.
Local restaurants and bars will set up cozy outdoor seating areas where visitors can taste the best of local food and wine. The gastronomic stands in the courtyard of the rectory, curated by the Noi Association and the Scout Group Valeggio, will offer their famous piadine.
Gianni Veronesi, president of the Pro Loco Valeggio Association, said, “This is the fair of us Valeggio residents, a celebration dedicated to the town, a moment to come together and have fun.” Veronesi highlighted how the event is an opportunity to stroll through the streets of the center with musical accompaniment, savor culinary specialties, or simply enjoy an aperitif with friends.
At the elementary schools, a photographic exhibition entitled “50 years of Pro Loco and Valeggio folklore” will be set up, organized by the Il Guado Association. Additionally, the Fà e Desfa group will present a well-established model exhibition. In Piazzetta Garibaldi, in front of the schools, the Alpini Valeggio Group will collaborate with the Valeggio for Europe and Beyond Association to offer tasty gastronomic specialties.
The final evening on Monday will be enriched by a fireworks show from the castle towers, promising strong emotions to end this edition of the fair.
