Desenzano: The 33rd Edition of the Winter Challenge Concluded. The event, which saw the participation of eighty teams, took place in Desenzano del Garda, organized by the Fraglia Vela Desenzano in collaboration with Nauticlub Moniga and Vela Club Desenzano. Coordinated by a team of race officials, including Raffaele Valsecchi and Mino Miniati, the event also celebrated the centenary of the birth of Ettore Santarelli, a renowned architect of the Gardesani monotypes. Over the four days of competition, seven races were held, culminating in a final day characterized by favorable weather conditions that allowed for the completion of three races.
The sailing race results saw several classes awarded: in the Meteor class, Synergos (Simonelli Damiano) triumphed, while in the Asso 99 class, the first place went to Diavolasso (Farina Andrea). Among the Dolphins, Baraimbo (Razzi-Imperadori) claimed the top spot. In the ORC grouping, Spirito Libero (Bazzoli Claudio) led the overall standings. The event also involved young sailors from local schools, such as the team from Liceo Sacra Famiglia in Castelletto di Brenzone, which won the award for school boats. With the conclusion of the Winter Challenge, FV Desenzano is now preparing for the last event of the winter season: the Gel Laser-Trofeo Barziza scheduled for Sunday, February 9.
