Four wolves were found dead in the late morning of Saturday, February 1, north of Barco di Levico Terme. The carcasses, discovered near the cycling path along the Brenta River, are under investigation by the Trentino Forest Service, which suspects possible poisoning. The necessary analyses to confirm the cause of death will be conducted by the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of the Venezie, and a report against unknown individuals is expected.
Recently, the presence of a wolf pack had been reported in the area, highlighted by the predation of a doe. In relation to this incident, authorities are advising caution and urging citizens not to approach wild animals. A related incident occurred on the afternoon of January 31 in Canal San Bovo, where a woman interacted with a wolf to protect her dog; fortunately, no serious consequences were reported.
