A workplace accident occurred at the Tav construction site in Peschiera del Garda, resulting in the hospitalization of a worker. The incident took place on Tuesday, November 26, around 10:30 AM, in the Madonna del Frassino area, where the worker became trapped in a basket at a height of 4 meters due to the platform getting wedged in a narrow opening. Firefighters from Verona and Bardolino promptly responded to assist him, using a fire engine and a ladder truck to reach him inside the tunnel.
After securing the man on a stretcher, the firefighters hoisted him up with the ladder truck and transferred him to medical personnel for further evaluation at the hospital. Meanwhile, law enforcement and technicians from the Occupational Health and Safety Prevention Service (Spisal) initiated an investigation to determine any potential safety violations at the construction site.
