Restoration work on the SP9 in Gargnano is ongoing, with helicopters beginning to transport the second row of umbrellas needed for the repair of the road, which has been severely damaged by landslides. This situation has rendered the municipalities of Valvestino and Magasa nearly inaccessible, isolating residents for almost two months. Currently, locals are forced to take a long alternative route that goes through Capovalle, Idro, and the Valle Sabbia, before reaching Salò.
Local authorities hope to reopen the road around the Christmas holidays, at least for a few hours each day, implementing an alternating one-way system. The reopening would provide a much-needed relief for residents, who are currently struggling to access essential services and workplaces.
