Matteo, a 30-year-old young man with mild cognitive impairment, has recently received the most significant gift of his life: a stable job at the McDonald’s in Desenzano. This achievement is the result of a social inclusion project initiated in March 2016 by the cooperative “La Mongolfiera.” After completing an internship that began in February 2022, Matteo demonstrated his work skills and the flexibility needed to adapt to changes within the restaurant.
The owner of McDonald’s, Cesare Epinati, expressed enthusiasm for Matteo’s hiring, highlighting how his smile and cheerfulness have a positive impact on the work environment. The cooperative “La Mongolfiera” is also expanding its services in Desenzano with the upcoming opening of a day center for people with disabilities. Matteo stated that he loves his job and appreciates the opportunity to interact with colleagues and customers from diverse cultures.
